--- title: "Introduction" source: "https://docs.palt.io/introduction" --- # Introduction The palt.io API does what the dashboard does with your docs, from scripts, CI and AI agents. Create projects, push OpenAPI specs, write guide pages in markdown and change branding. This documentation is itself a palt.io project: the reference on the left is built from the API's own OpenAPI document, and these pages are pushed with the `palt` CLI. ## Base URL ``` https://www.palt.io/api/v1 ``` ## Your first call Create an API key in **Settings → API keys**, then: ```bash curl https://www.palt.io/api/v1/me \ -H "Authorization: Bearer $PALT_API_KEY" ``` You get your account, its plan and this month's usage. ## Three ways in - **The REST API**, described here, for anything that speaks HTTP. - **The `palt` CLI**, for your terminal and CI: `palt push openapi.yaml --project my-api`. - **The MCP server**, so Claude, Cursor or any MCP client can manage your docs in conversation. All three act as the same account, with the same roles and plan limits as the dashboard. ## These docs, for your AI tools Every page here has **Copy page** at the top: it copies the page as markdown, or opens it in ChatGPT or Claude. Add `.md` to any page's address for its markdown, or point an agent at [llms.txt](https://docs.palt.io/llms.txt), the index of every page. Your own docs on palt.io get the same.
